Our Doctors
Daniel K. Thompson, D.V.M.
Dr.Thompson was born in Wichita and raised on a family farm north of the city.  He graduated from Wichita Heights High School in 1967. He attended Friends University and received a bachelor's degree in biology from Kansas State University in 1971. He received a doctorate in veterinary medicine from KSU in 1975. He is a member of Phi Zeta, the honor society for veterinary medicine. After practicing in animal hospitals in Chicago, Illinois, and Salina, Kansas, he opened Chisholm Trail Animal Hospital in 1979. 

He has served as president of the Wichita Veterinary Medical Association and on the intervention committee for the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association. He is a member of the Wichita Crime Commission. Dr. Dan has appeared weekly on Newstalk for KWCH-TV, Channel 12, since 1984, answering pet-related questions.
He and his wife, Jill have three adult children and two grandchildren. His favorite past-times include reading, music, auto restoration, travel, gardening and home-brewing. He gets a kick out of the antics of the family's cats, Melly, Myst and Mathias (A.K.A. Tuffy).
Cindy A. Payne-Robertson, D.V.M.
Dr. Payne-Robertson is a native of rural Valley Center. She graduated from Valley Center High School in 1978.  While in college, she worked at Chisholm Trail Animal Hospital as a ward attendant and a veterinary assistant. She received a bachelor's degree in general agriculture in 1983 and a doctorate of veterinary medicine in 1985, both from Kansas State University. She practiced in an animal hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado, before joining CTAH in 1985. 

Dr. Cindy is active in the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association and has served on the board of directors as past president. Leisure time pursuits for Dr. Cindy and her husband, Curt, include travel, hiking,
rock-climbing, back-packing and antiquing. They share their farm in rural Valley Center farm with a large menagerie. The resident pets include five dogs, three cats, eight horses and one miniature donkey. Dr. Cindy has served as a member of the Sedgwick County Sheriff's mounted posse. She enjoys reading and driving her vintage Land-Rover. 
Lori A. Mitchell, D.V.M., C.C.R.P.
A native of Wichita, Kansas, Dr. Mitchell graduated from Wichita Northwest High School in 1980. She received an associate's degree in veterinary technology from Colby Community College in 1982. Her preceptorship was completed at Chisholm Trail Animal Hospital. She worked as a Registered Animal Health Technician in animal hospitals in Wichita and Pond Creek, Oklahoma.  She returned to college while living in Oklahoma and received a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1990 from Oklahoma State University. She practiced in an animal hospital in Springfield, Missouri, before joining CTAH in 1991.
She is trained in animal massage, credentialed for regenerative stem cell therapy and is certified by the University of Tennessee in canine physical therapy.

Dr. Lori and her husband, Charlie, have a son Logan. They enjoy spending time as a family boating and water skiing at Tablerock Lake.  She travels to dog shows around the country and has titled dogs in conformation, agility, obedience and field with her Australian Shepherd, Folgers and her Golden Retriever, Forbes. 
The family also provides a loving home for two cats.
Jamie A. Fisher, D.V.M.
Dr. Fisher was raised in Wichita and graduated from Wichita  Heights High School in 1994.  While she was in college and veterinary school she worked at Chisholm Trail Animal Hospital as a ward attendant and veterinary assistant during breaks from school. She graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor's degree in animal science in 1998 and received a doctorate in veterinary medicine from KSU in 2004. She joined CTAH immediately after graduation
.

An accomplished horsewoman, Dr. Jamie has competed in confirmation, showmanship, western pleasure and hunter-jumper events. She enjoys training her three wonderful Australian shepherds, Bentley, Jag and Tahoe, for obedience, rally and agility competition. Her additional past-times include reading, travel, working on home-improvement projects and spending time with her nieces and nephews.
