General Care

Over time, you’ll learn to see your pets as a part of your family. So, it’s just right to do anything you can to keep them healthy and away from harm. But sometimes, they can get sick or get into some kind of trouble.

Whether it’s an injury or an illness, health problems can show up at any time. As an owner, being aware that something is wrong can save their lives. To make things easier for you, here are some telltale signs that they need immediate emergency care:

  • Excessive bleeding
  • Rapid pulse
  • Sudden change in temperature
  • Difficulty standing
  • Seizures

Although medical emergencies require immediate care from a general vet practitioner, applying first aid can help ease pain and ensure that your pet is stable before transportation.  For example, if your pet has significant external bleeding because of trauma, the first thing you should do is elevate and apply pressure on the wound with a clean towel. This is to prevent losing more blood.
